Does my lifestyle fit for a Brittany Dog?

I live in Vancouver,BC. I live in a twin town house. It’s pretty big. Not small. It has 3 levels( main floor, top floor, basement ). There’s a small fenced garden. There are two enormous parks within a 15 mins. walk away. And there are lots of other big parks that i can go in Vancouver. I love outdoors, especially during summer. But i don’t hunt. Me and my sister have to go to school from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. But my mom is home. She doesnt work. She loves going on walks. My mom will be able to walk it in the morning, and we can all walk the dog after dinner. Each walk can be 1 hour or more. I’ve never had a dog before, but i’ve had fishes, rats, mice, and hamsters. But i’ve read lots of dog books since i was a kid. I can spend about 3 hours during school days with it in the house, and i can take it for at least 1 hour walk after dinner. My mom will take it for 1 hour walk too in morning. Ya… and we are a loving active family. ( but dont hunt ) = )

I would say no. Brittany spaniels are very high energy dogs that were bred to hunt. I knew someone who kept hers in an apartment and despite lots of walks and interaction, Zoey rarely sat still. She would do laps in the living room all night while everyone else just sat there.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t get a dog or that all brittanies are going to be like this, but I think you should consider a lower energy easy going family dog for your first dog.
