Work At Home Scams Bbb

International Money questions…home based business?
Heres the question, there is a legitamit logistics company according to the (bbb) who has been in business for 12 years based in florida. They are looking for people who they can pay to ship product internationally for them from home. They have the product shipped to you,you unpack it to make sure the product is in working condition.Repack it and take it to the post office. They would rather pay all the shipping expenses and half the persons medical and dental insurance.Instead of hiring people full time and having building over head. The product is digital equiptment IE: Ipods, laptops, camera’s things of that nature. Signed contract to insure your residence and who you are, as well as there company information to prove who they are. So basically your making minimum $1500 a month to inspect and take product to the post office. Question is DOES there sound like something may be FISHY with this and if so WHAT? Or is it just me because of the scams today?NO investment on your part at all.
Re-shippers
Re-shipping scams trick individuals or small businesses into shipping goods to countries with weak legal systems. The goods are generally paid for with stolen or fake credit cards.
Here is another good article about re-shippers – but the theme is the same. http://www.crime-research.org/news/04.01.2005/877/
This article came from Monster Jobs site:
“Reshipping Fraud
Reshipping, or postal forwarding, scam victims are typically offered an at-home job that involves repackaging stolen goods — frequently consumer electronics — and forwarding them, often outside the United States. Scammers ask victims to shell out their own shipping charges, and pay reimbursement and compensation with a fake check.
In addition to seeing their own paychecks bounce, those who fall for reshipping scams may be liable for shipping charges and even the cost of goods purchased online with stolen credit cards.
How can the victims be criminally liable? For starters, they handled goods that were stolen and followed scammers’ instructions to lie on US Customs Service forms if they forwarded packages abroad.”
I found these things by searching for
re-shipping [scams]
Maybe the company you are dealing with IS legit, but it doesn’t give me warm fuzzys at all… You also have to realize that some of these scammers use the name of perfectly legit companies… and contracts are easy to draw up or purchase at an office supply house or even on line….
Just be careful – and remember the old saying “if it sounds too good to be true……… ”
~best wishes to you
