How can I stop being so jealous?

My husband is currently deployed to Qatar, I havent seen him in a long time. I get jealous of all the people he works with, men and women because they get to see him everyday and I dont.
I also get jealous when I see another military wife whose husband is home. I just think in my head “why can she have her husband around and I cant?” I almost get angry at them.

Comparing yourself to others in any facet of life tends to lead to problems. First off, you don’t know that the relationship these women have with their husbands they see more is even as good as what you have. They could see them, but have marital problems you don’t. You are married to your husband, and your situation is unlike anyone else’s and your relationship is unlike anyone else’s. Same with the people your husband is deployed with. Don’t compare. They are apples and oranges.

Whenever you get jealous, think about this: You are so blessed to have a man who loves you as much as he does and wanted you to be the woman he wanted to spend his life with. So many people, myself included, have not found that yet. You married a man that is off doing what many people wouldn’t, for the good of the country and that in and of itself is a terrific thing that you should be incredibly proud of. But don’t just be proud of him. You are sacrificing having your husband around so that he can perform a job that benefits all citizens, and that is a real sacrifice, so you deserve a lot of respect as well.

Everything happens for a reason. This is something that if you can work through and control, you will be a better person for doing it. Be happy for other peoples’ blessings (seeing their husbands). Yours is coming somewhere down the line.
