Work At Home Desktop Support

Should I take an higher paying SEO job or an desktop support job even though it pays less, t I’d get exp in IT
Is the helpdesk job that vital to getting a system admin job? or can i work at my old job (SEO) while i obtain an MCSE + linux cert.
at the helpdesk, I get more free time at work because there’s lots of waiting.
at the SEO job, more flexibility and probably more at home time.
What should I do? Will companies hire me for a decent 45k+ job later in a year or so when I have a MCSE + Linux + Ruby on Rails cert?
Is the difference neglibile if I take a helpdesk job instead?
Note on the side: ultimately I still like to work on my own projects (web), I’m a entrepreneur at heart, but the IT job is a backup/failsafe if stuff don’t work out.
